Favorite Book Covers

What kind of covers catch your eye when looking for a new book? Do you cover buy? I'm not going to lie. Probably 99% of my book buying decisions are made on the cover. I very rarely will read the synopsis.  Here are some of my favorite book covers and if your not a cover buyer like me, I'm going to include the synopsis. These are in no particular order! 1. This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab    There’s no such thing as safe in a city at war, a city overrun with monsters. In this dark urban fantasy from...

Do I Have That Book - Book Challenge

Posted by Chelsea Poff on

I've seen this challenge done by multiple booktubers and book bloggers so now it's my turn! 1. Do you have a book with deckled edges? Yes, and I love them! Off the top of my head, The Glass Spare and The Cursed Sea by Lauren DeStefano. 2. Do you have a book with three or more people on the cover? Another yes! It's not super common on my shelves, but I know they are there. A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir 3. Do you have a book based on another fictional story? Is this trying to ask if...

Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raash Book Review

A dying kingdom, kingdoms at war, lost magic, dark magic, romance, plot twists and one determined orphaned girl. This book has it all!  The world building was absolutely amazing! It took me a minute to realize there was more than 4 kingdoms but once I figured out there were 8, 4 Seasons and 4 Rythms, it was easier to follow along.  I love Meira. She is a character who I easily felt for. Her determination to be her own person, live her own path and to show that she mattered. She really struggled with wanting to be seen for her...

The Woman Who Went Overboard by Florence Wetzel Book Review

This story follows Agnes on a Norwegian Fantasies Cruise and her search to find a husband. It is told from two different time lines as Agnes recounts everything that happened on the trip to a woman's daughter, who is looking for answers. Agnes is a woman who at first I felt bad for, but there quote on the front definitely describes Agnes the best "I don't know if you should hug her or run away." She's extremely eccentric and blind to her own flaws. She is also extremely devious and, as impatient as she is about getting a husband, she is very...

Vengeful by VE Schwab Book Review

Posted by Chelsea Poff on

I was definitely interested in seeing where this book was going to go after the ending of Vicious and I can't say I saw this coming. This story continues to follow Eli, Victor, Sydney, Mitch and who can forget Dol but also adds in some new characters.  This book is full of sociopaths and I'm not disappointed. It's written in the same style as the first with all the jumping off time lines, but also there was a lot of jumping between characters POV which I love getting. There is tons of thrilling action and I honestly could not have...
